The new Renault 5 E-Tech is a fully electric supermini with retro-inspired styling that pays homage to the original Renault 5 from the 1970s and '80s. It's a modern, tech-filled vehicle designed to replace the Renault Zoe as a mainstream compact electric car.

There are 2 main options available. A 40kWh "Urban Range" battery with a 120hp motor, offering an official range of up to 193 miles and a larger 52kWh "Comfort Range" battery paired with a 150hp motor, extending the official range to a maximum of 253 miles.

With affordability at its heart, the Renault 5 E-Tech is positioned to be a serious competitor in the compact electric car market.

Brands you might find comparable include MGBYD, and Hyundai which offer a similar range of affordable, smaller EVs. Brands like Mini and Fiat offer comparable small, stylish city cars, while brands like KiaFord, and Skoda compete in the family and SUV segments.

Alternatives include the Hyundai Inster, Citroën e-C3, Vauxhall Corsa Electric, and BYD Dolphin for a small electric car focus. If you're considering other small EVs, options like the Mini Cooper E and MG4 EV might also take your fancy.

Yes, the new Renault 5 E-Tech is well-rated in reviews and widely considered a good electric car, especially for city driving, due to its stylish retro design, fun driving experience, and reasonable price.

No, the Renault 5 is not the largest electric car from Renault; that title belongs to the larger Renault 4 E-Tech SUV. The Renault 5 is a compact electric supermini designed for city driving, while the Renault 4 E-Tech SUV is positioned as a more spacious, family-oriented vehicle.

We think leasing is a great choice. It lets you drive a brand new car every few years for a fixed low monthly cost, which can include maintenance provisions, without the hassle or worries about buying and selling.

We offer leases of 18 months, 24, 36, 48 and 60 months, so you can choose the best lease length for you.
