The Volkswagen Multivan is a van based multi-person vehicle (MPV) that is one of the largest cars in VW’s catalogue. With two sliding rear doors, rear seats that can be fitted individually with slide, recline and swivel features and all the latest of VW’s convenience and safety features it’s a great choice for families with older children or those who want a customisable interior layout to maximise the space to best fit their needs.
You’ll have the choice of two petrol, a diesel or a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) engine options and most will come with a seven speed automatic transmission, though the 1.4 litre PHEV has a six-speed version.
The hybrid model will give you a purely electric range of 30 miles and then once this is exhausted will switch over to the combustion engine. One thing to keep in mind if you do opt for the PHEV is that although the electric range may cover a large portion of your daily needs the petrol tank is a lot smaller than you’ll get in internal combustion engine (ICE) models due to the electric motor and battery taking up space.
