First introduced as a sub-brand of SEAT, Cupra's now its own standalone brand and has been since 2018 with a range of exceptional models ready to be leased today. Described as an ‘unconventional challenger brand’ Cupra takes a lot of style inspiration from its Spanish beginnings and today has a successful motorsport team, in the form of Cupra Racing.

Cupra leasing deals are rapidly becoming a top choice for those seeking bold styling and electrified performance. The 2026 line-up features the sleek Tavascan all-electric SUV coupe and the compact Born EV. In addition, there are the versatile Formentor and Ateca SUVs. The Terramar offers a fresh take on the mid-sized crossover, while the Leon and Leon Estate continue to deliver sharp handling in a practical package. You’ll also find high-output VZ versions across the range, representing the pinnacle of Cupra’s sporting DNA with boosted power and aggressive tuning.

Which is the best Cupra model to lease?

Options abound, from the slick Leon hatchback to the popular Formentor, which now features enhanced plug-in hybrid powertrains. For those needing more space, the new Terramar SUV offers a sporty, larger alternative to the classic Ateca. Whether you choose a 100% electric model or a performance hybrid, a Cupra lease ensures you stand out with signature copper accents and a sporty flair.

Your Cupra leasing questions answered

Since the rebrand from SEAT Sport, Cupra has proven to be a phenomenal high-performance automotive brand and has plenty of great models to choose from. As a relatively new brand, leasing could be the ideal option to drive away a new car without having to pay a premium price in one go.

Both brands fall under the umbrella of the VW group, with Cupra branching off as SEAT's more sporty sibling back in 2018.

The range of an electric Cupra varies significantly across its 3 core models, with official WLTP figures typically spanning from 236 to 389 miles. The flagship for distance is the facelifted Cupra Born hatchback; while its new entry-level 50kWh battery offers about 250 miles, the larger 79kWh unit provides the brand’s maximum range of up to 389 miles. The Tavascan SUV occupies the middle ground, offering approximately 355 miles in its efficient rear-wheel-drive configuration, which drops to around 299–326 miles for the more powerful, dual-motor VZ performance versions.

The newcomer for 2026, the compact Cupra Raval, is designed primarily for urban environments and is expected to deliver a range of roughly 280 miles in its standard form, though the high-performance VZ Extreme variant may see this dip toward 236 miles. Remember that these official figures represent ideal conditions; real-world factors such as cold winter weather or sustained high-speed motorway driving can reduce these distances by 20% or more.

The Cupra Leon tends to be the cheapest when looking for a leasing deal online, as a smaller car compared to its bigger counterparts the Ateca and Formentor.  However, the best deals available will change and you might strike it lucky with a better value deal on a higher-spec vehicle or a model that's typically pricier.

Cupra models are well known for their reliability, with Cupra cars sharing most mechanical parts with SEAT models and the wider Volkswagen group.

Their engines are able to last for hundreds of thousands of miles without any issues.
