At less than half the price of some of the other big-name sports cars, the Chevrolet Corvette (C8) feels like a bit of a bargain, comparatively speaking. Lauded as possibly the best value sports car currently on the market, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, its entry model, is anything but basic; a 482-hp 6.2-liter V-8 engine manages an incredible 2.8-second 60-mph in real world tests. But in case you should think that supercar handling, cornering and overall performance must surely come at the expense of practicality, think again because Chevrolet have thought of everything. They have managed to create a comfortable cabin with a really generous amount of cargo space for a sports car, enough to fit a carry-on-size suitcase on the front trunk and two in the rear.

There are currently three Corvette models in the line up of this 2-seater V8-powered supercar termed the C8; the Stingray, E-Ray and Z06. Each model offers three trim levels and a coupe or convertible option.  The classic coupe has a removable roof panel and the convertible, a fully retractable hardtop.

The Stingray offers the perfect combination of performance driving, sculpted design and cargo capacity, while the E-Ray has an electrified front axle and is the quickest production Corvette ever, with a claimed 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds. The Z06 is the most powerful naturally aspirated Corvette, thanks to the LT6 5.5L V8 engine, made for the track but versatile enough for the streets. The new Corvette ZR1 due on the road in 2025, will command a heavy premium even over the Z06, while taking it as its base, with more power than a Bugatti Veyron.

Many driver-assistance features come as standard, including lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist and automated emergency braking, but others such as blind spot monitoring cost extra.

Additional trim levels are 2LT and 3LT. The 2LT adds various comfort and convenience features including a head-up display, heated seats and steering wheel, a 14-speaker Bose stereo system and much more. The 3LT is the ultimate combination of luxury and performance, all wrapped up with a leather interior.
