The iconic Civic has evolved! Honda has given its excellent hybrid hatchback a freshen up with updated interior styling and exterior changes including improved LED headlight technology, a new front bumper with cleaner character lines and a redesigned gloss black grille providing a sharper look. The new upper and lower grille and 18in two-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels (in grey for Advance grade and black in Sport grade models) work together to create a slightly sportier, more dynamic edge.
Front fog lights have been banished to further streamline the design, made possible through the improvements to the headlights, which ensure optimal visibility is still maintained.
The Civic's been refined in response to customer feedback, while retaining the versatility, efficiency and dynamic performance that has always defined it.
Tweaked to perfection
A new exterior paint option is now available in Seabed Blue, replacing Premium Crystal Blue, in addition to the colour options previously available – Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Sonic Gray Pearl and Premium Crystal Red Metallic. Plus, there are now new optional accessory accent colours in Berlina Black, Nordic Silver and Patina Bronze.
A new black roof lining delivers a more premium feel and there’s matte chrome around the air vents, adding the subtle touches of detail that lift the Civic into a more sophisticated realm.
Long considered one of the most reliable vehicles on the market, the Civic combines a strong resale value, along with excellent fuel efficiency and a history of engineering innovation. Its hybrid version was introduced to the Japanese market in December 2001 but the first-generation Civic was actually introduced much earlier in July 1972, making it a car that has truly stood the test of time.
Mechanically the same
The updated Civic remains mechanically identical to the outgoing model, featuring the same single hybrid powertrain option, and the design changes have been subtle, perhaps with a view to not alienating any particular market segments. The vehicle's strong focus on reliability has always made it a popular choice as a car for a range of ages, including, perhaps more so than other brands, young and elderly drivers.
