An electric car with great performance, the BMW iX1 is essentially an X1 with a battery as opposed to a fuel tank. Powerful and running a fair distance between charges, the iX1 is a spacious vehicle with a good sized boot and an infotainment system brilliantly equipped to keep the whole family happy.

There are two versions of the BMW iX1. The entry-level eDrive20 has one motor and 201bhp, managing 0-62mph in 8.6 seconds. A full charge will achieve a range of up to 293 miles. The second more powerful version, the iX1 xDrive30, has a second electric motor helping it achieve 308bhp and 0-62mph in 5.6 seconds, with a range of up to 271 miles.

The BMW iX1 offers a comfortable drive, with a good range of adjustment in the driving seat and steering wheel. A rear-view camera, and front and rear parking sensors come as standard on all models, as do LED headlights, ensuring excellent visibility for night drivers.

Who is the ideal driver for a BMW iX1 lease?

This baby crossover is perfect for new and younger families who need a bit of extra space but are also looking for an electric car that is still sporty and young at heart. While it is a small family EV, it is more than practical enough for most, with its spacious design and ample 490-litre boot boot space, impressive for a car of its size.

Which cars are similar to a BMW iX1 lease?

If you’re looking to compare vehicles similar to the BMW iX1 to see which you prefer, then it’s worth checking out the Volvo XC40 Recharge.

Both look much like regular SUVs and attract the kind of buyer who’s keen to try an EV but simultaneously wants to avoid a car that looks overly electric. Both are built for range and comfort. The BMW weighs less and is therefore a bit more energy efficient but they are fairly evenly matched for their merits.

Another car on a similar level to the BMW iX1 is the Audi Q4 e-tron, for those who need a vehicle that is a little cheaper, with a slightly bigger boot.

If you’re sure you’d like a BMW but want to compare it to a similar vehicle you could also take a look at the BMW X1, the non-electric version.
