Hyundai launched the third generation of the i20 in September of this year and just as they did with the i30 they’ve also developed a performance model in the i20N, which will be available in the UK from Spring 2021.

There are several visible differences between this and the i20 it’s based on including the larger front bumper with bigger air intake, the bespoke roof-mounted spoiler and the lower right height which gives better aerodynamics.

The i20N features red detailing along the lower bodywork and is expected to be available in six colours including the Performance Blue pictured.

There will be five driving modes, including N Custom where you can set your own preferences to really personalise the driving experience.

There will be new springs and dampeners, increased front camber and uprated brakes and Hyundai say that the underpinnings have been strengthened and suspension reinforced to ensure you get the best possible performance from the i20N.

On the interior, there is little change from the regular i20 apart from the front sports seats, aluminium pedals and sport style steering wheel.

Behind the wheel is a digital instrument panel and there’s a large touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to keep you connected on the go.

Hyundai are yet to announce the exact price but it’s expected to be in the region of £20,000 to £25,000.
